Sally awarded RYA Yachtmaster Offshore

After 13,500 miles of sailing Sally decided it was time to taking a course and get herself a qualification. She has spent weeks plotting, calculating depths and making strange tooting noises.

First came the theory course which she did at Southern Sailing in Southampton. It turns out that all her preparation meant that this part of the assessment presented few difficulties. However, the nervous energy really started to flow as the date of the 5 day practical course approached with its 36 hour assessment at the end of it.

Last friday was "D" Day when the examiner stepped abourd. Somehow she had manage to fix it so that the tides were at neaps and the wind non existant. By Saturday evening she was on the train home having passed with flying colours - much to the relief of us all!
