We haven't even been ashore yet but St Anthony, the Patron Saint of Wi-fi did not disappoint. Delicious 4G mobile data stretched well out to sea and, those of us that still had phones, were suitably glued to their screens for the approach.
Nature, however, had different ideas and tried to distract us with the golden light of evening and a wonderfully green shoreline. Then, when still the data sucking screens prevailed, she sent along three breaching and spouting humpback whales to play in the final approaches to the harbour. That worked and we were all captivated by the display and the welcome to Newfoundland.
Once anchored the data streamed in bringing all those essential updates and news items that we have been 10 days without.
