Time travelling, 27th March

Today we are a week into what we believe will be about a 3 week voyage, we are heading west so the sun sets a little later every day as we slowly progress. The time difference between Galapagos and French Polynesia is 3 1/2 hours so we have decided to move Shimshal standard time back one hour each week.  It makes little difference on board what time we call it except you expect it to get dark in the evening between 6 and 7 here in the tropics and light again 12 hours later. Moving the hour maintains that. Also when we arrive we don't want to be 3 1/2 hours adrift and have to adjust all in one go. We also decided to change our clocks at 1pm  this avoids the midnight till 2am watch suddenly being 3 hours long. We just get an hour longer for lunch.
This week, Shimshal standard time is 7 hours behind London and 1 hours ahead of Vancouver. That is until you change your clocks as well.
