BBQ supper for 8

For our last night in Toau and in the Toamotus, Gaston went hunting for lobster. BBQ’d with Garlic butter they were then delivered to Te Kinga, the Kiwi catamaran that had graciously agreed to host the sit down supper for 8 arranged to celebrate a great time in the atolls and a parting of the ways.

The lobster was delicious and the company a delight. We have had regular rendezvous with Pacific Wind and Matilda since Panama by Grant and Fran, on Te Kinga were newly acquired buddy boaters. Great Kiwi folk with a farm on Te Kinga Mointain a little north and west of Arthur’s Pass. We will be visiting.

The music and the feast ended early because we needed to sail at dawn. Shimshal has a 280
mile dash to make to the Society Islands to arrive before the Maramu winds arrive that are likely to blow for a week or more. The 3 other boats headed off to find a safe anchorage in the Aputaki atoll.
