Day 9 - the team splits for the day.
The statistical analysis of our individualised ascent and descent rates was used to determine who did what on the Kayanjin Gompa Adventure Day. Those that climb at 5 metres / minute were rewarded with an 1,100m blast up Tserko Ri (4,990m) which was, by all accounts, a fine day in the hills.
Those that climb at 4 metres/min were allocated the twin pimple summits of Kayanjin Ri the first being 4,300m and, linked by a fine ridge, the second being 4,600m. Neil loved the ridge. Their day too was perfect with plenty of Himalayan vistas and stunning, clear weather.
The various groups filtered back throughout the afternoon in various states of exhaustion. Chris wasn’t seen until the morning but, when she did emerge, she was delighted with the day’s adventure.
