We are going offshore tomorrow but not far. Canadian rules require that we sail to international waters in order to return and re-set our permit to keep Shimshal in Canada another year. But, before we depart, we have to take a trip to Halifax to each get a CAN$190 PCR test in order to leave and re-enter Canada. So today we are in Halifax and tomorrow we will sail (though no wind is forecast) to the international waters before returning with the Q flag flying to Lunenburg Yacht Club to meet with CBSA.

Sally and Simon left Scotland in 2015 on board Shimshal to begin a slow circumnavigation taking in various high latitude destinations. After 3 seasons in Greenland we sailed south to Lewisporte in northern Newfoundland. In 2019 we cruised the Canadian Maritimes. In 2022 & 23 we cruised via New England, Chesapeake, Florida, Cuba, Cayman, Providencia to Bocas del Toro. In late 2023 we transited the Panama Canal and in 2024 we sailed to French Polynesia via Galapagos.
