For the day to Trieste we had sunshine, fast descents, a few ups and a web of gravel paths between Lipica and the steep descent to Trieste’s bustling streets. The scenery was as varied as the cycleway and the destination a renovated hotel squeezed into the narrow streets within the old town walls.
