We browsed all the forecast models until we found one that suggested rain overnight but stopping by 0900 followed by a return to drizzle at 1530. It worked and we stayed dry and the sun even came out briefly. Let’s see if our luck holds!
Komoot threaded our way out of Villach through the Italian border to lunch at Travis. From there the cycleway followed a disused railway line that has been paved with a perfectly manicured surface over the Slovenian border. Silky smooth cycling through forest betraying the first glimpse of autumn, misty mountains and finally the end of the downhill ski race slope at Kranjska Gora.
